As Requested

As requested, here is the painting I did of Pallo.

Avery Park-7608
Painting of Pallo
Overall, it came out nicely. The red as the background color was, in my opinion, both a mistake and a total fail.

I feel like I should name this "A Portrait of a Dog in a Blood Puddle" or something.

Shame, too. I liked the painting of Pallo before all the red got thrown on there.

PS. I will let you all in on a little secret. I totally suck at drawing. And painting for that matter. And most crafts. I always did pretty good at Paint By Numbers, though. So you know what I did? I held up my paper to a photo on my computer monitor, traced the outlines of the dogs, then traced in all of the different colored areas. Basically, I made myself some personal Paint By Numbers templates of my dogs. But man, I sure can fill in those lines!

  1. When I first saw the photo come up I immediately didn't like the red background ... so I was very glad to see that you don't either, lol! I used to do the Paint by Numbers too. I doubt I'll ever get around to try painting my dogs but that's a good tip about tracing over a photo :)

  2. Great job on Pallo's portrait, but I agree that the red background is harsh. I guess trying to paint over it with another color would probably create a mess. Love your secret method! Very clever!
