Pallo's FM title ribbon

I neglected, after our last flyball tournament, to take Pallo's picture with his huge shiny ribbon. We lucked since most of the tournaments in our region don't do ribbons for placements or titles, but Pallo hit the big Flyball Master (FM) 5,000 point title at one of the few tournaments with ribbons!

I love getting ribbons. The title certificates a nice, and I keep all of them, but the ribbons are so much easier and prettier for hanging on the wall.

Koira didn't want to be left out of the picture session this morning. She did get a new title at the tournament, but they weren't giving titling ribbons to titles lower than 5,000 (so Pallo just barely squeaked in there).

I was using this morning to try out a new winter photo set up. The light was really bad today though, since it is very overcast and dark outside, so even with the south facing window, the white backdrop (wrapped around to help reflect the light back into the middle) and both the over head light and the stand lamp on, a lot of the pictures were really grainy or blurry. And, my camera has about the harshest flash ever (though it ended up not too bad to use if I put a piece of cardboard in front of it to reflect the flash up).

Hoping we get some sunnier winter days, or else the blog is going to be sadly lacking in pictures.

  1. I know what you mean about no sunny days! We take advantage of every sun break we can get at this time of year.

Congratulations to Pallo on such an important ribbon!! He wears it well.

  12. That's a fantastic ribbon! I'm such a ribbon snob. Pallo's is way nicer than Steve's FM ribbon.

Steve should get his FMX at our tournament in a couple weeks. I've kind of been biting my nails a little bit hoping he'll get enough points, because we give nice title ribbons and the next tournament gives really lousy ribbons. LOL

  13. I hear you! It's dark in the morning when I leave for work and dark at night when I get home. The only photos I've posted lately are old ones. We'd better get some nice days this weekend so I can replenish my stash for next week!

    Congratulations on your pretty ribbons!

  14. Congrats to Paollo. Love the pictures! Such cute faces.

The FM is the first one you get a pin too right? We are about 1,500 points from our FM title. Hoping we can wrack them up at the start of the season! :-)

  15. Oh Pallo - you look beautiful with your ribbon! BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Oh, and I also wanted to tell you that I'm also like you when I have to have my ear drops - I accept it but I look really miserable! :-)

    Slobbers,
    Honey the Great Dane
ps. my human wanted to add also that she totally agreed with your human about what she said about walks last time - Hsin-Yi probably didn't make herself clear enough in the post - it doesn't have to be leashed walks all the time - I have a mix of leashed pavement/park walks and off-leash romps & plays. And of course, if a doggie is doing lots of dogsports (like you do!), then that takes the place of a walk too! It's just as long as people take their dogs out and do SOMETHING with them at least once a day. But anyway, Hsin-Yi says she's just "preaching to the converted" with people like your human - ha! ha! Sadly, it's the people who really need to listen who probably aren't reading my blog!
